Client and Company Brand Kits for Marketing Designs

Set a brokerage's brand once and every agent there gets it on new listing designs — logo colours, fonts, per-agent tweaks and readability warnings.

Last updated

A listing design is the agent’s marketing, so it should look like their brokerage, not like a template. A brand kit is the set of colours and fonts a new Marketing Studio design starts from. Set one up for a company and every agent there gets it on their listing posts and flyers without anyone touching a colour picker.

There are two kits behind a listing design, and you edit both inside Spatiko:

  • Company → Brand — the brokerage’s brand, shared by everyone linked to that company.
  • Client → Brand — an agent’s own changes on top of their company’s, on their client record.

Listing designs never carry your studio’s name or logo. Your own marketing brand lives in Settings and only reaches a listing design when someone on your team applies it by hand — more on that below.

What a brand kit holds

Each kit has a handful of colour roles, named after what templates paint with them:

  • Main colour — bold bands and badges, with your background colour as their text.
  • Second colour — panels and cards, with your text colour on top.
  • Highlight — thin lines, icons, and small details.
  • Under More colours: Text colour for headlines and body text, and Background for the page and for text over photos.

Fonts are a heading and a body font, picked as a ready-made pairing — or choose Pick heading and body fonts separately. Anything you leave unset stays as Template’s own, so a kit can be as small as one colour.

Beside the controls, a live preview paints a sample post or flyer with the kit — switch between Post and Flyer — under the line “New designs start like this.”

Set up a company’s brand

Open the company and go to its Brand tab. A company with no logo and no brand yet asks for one thing: “Add Hartwell Realty’s logo” — “We’ll pick the brand colours from it.” Upload the logo and Spatiko reads its colours into Main colour, Second colour, and Highlight and saves them straight away, with Undo on the confirmation in case they’re off. A black-and-white logo has no colours to read, so you’ll be asked to choose them yourself.

No logo to hand? No logo? Choose colours yourself opens the editor empty. And if the company already had a logo before its brand existed, a banner says it has a logo but no brand colours yet, with Use colours from logo beside it. Whenever the company has a logo, Use colours from logo also sits in the Colours header for a fresh pull.

Click any colour row to change it — a colour picker, a hex field, and quick picks from the brand’s other colours. Set the fonts, then Save brand in the bar at the bottom. The footer counts how many clients use the brand, and Clear brand empties it.

Company → Brand for Hartwell Realty — main, second, text, and background colours set, Highlight left to each template, one font pairing, and a preview of what new designs start from.

The company’s logo itself belongs to the company record, and it’s the logo designs show in their company logo spot.

Give one agent their own colours

An agent’s Brand tab opens on a summary of what they inherit. With a company brand in place, it reads “New designs for Jordan’s Hartwell Realty orders use Hartwell Realty’s brand automatically, including any later changes to it.” Most agents never need more than that.

Client → Brand for Jordan Meyers — the Hartwell Realty brand he inherits, with Customize for Jordan to change only what's different for him.

When an agent’s marketing differs — a team colour, a different font — click Customize for Jordan. The same editor opens, with each colour the company set already shown and marked “From Hartwell Realty”. Change only what’s different: “Anything left unset follows Hartwell Realty’s brand.” Reset to Hartwell Realty’s brand clears his own changes, and Save brand keeps whatever you’ve done.

If the agent uploaded their own brokerage logo in their client portal profile, Use colours from Jordan’s logo pulls colours from it.

The summary changes with the agent’s company:

  • The company has no brand yet — “Hartwell Realty has no brand yet. Set it up once and everyone at Hartwell Realty gets it.” Set up Hartwell Realty’s brand takes you there, or Customize for Jordan only gives just this agent a brand.
  • No company linked — new designs use each template’s own colours and fonts, unless you customize the agent’s brand.

Readability warnings

The Brand tab checks your colours against each other and flags any pair that won’t read — “Can’t be read on your background”, for example, or “Too dark for the text templates put over photos”. The row shows the warning in amber and the swatch gets a dot.

These are warnings, not rules. Nothing stops you saving or exporting, and designs paint the colours exactly as you chose them — fix the pairing if a design would end up unreadable.

How a new design picks its brand

The brand comes from the order itself: its client and the company on the order, never a brokerage name someone typed. When a new design is created — from a built-in template or a blank page:

  1. Each colour and font the client has set is used.
  2. Anything the client left unset comes from the company on the order.
  3. Anything neither set keeps the template’s own style.

The brand is applied at that moment, so a later change to a kit reaches new designs, not ones already made. Templates you’ve saved yourself keep the colours and fonts they were saved with.

To restyle an existing design, open the editor’s Brand panel. Apply brand lists Client and Company, each with an Apply button — “Recolours the asset and sets its fonts. Undo restores it.” When the company has a logo but no brand colours yet, the Company row offers Use logo colours instead; on your side, those colours are also saved to the company’s brand.

Agents get the same Client and Company choices in their own editor. Nothing they do there saves a brand kit, and the client portal has no brand settings of its own.

Your studio’s own marketing brand

Settings → Brand Assets has a Marketing designs card for your studio’s own marketing brand. It begins with the Brand Colors and Typography above it — the Brand Colors card notes “Your marketing designs start from them too” — and lets you add a second colour, a body font, or adjust anything for print and social. It saves with the page’s own Save, and it’s part of Marketing Studio, so it needs a plan on Starter and up (see pricing).

Listing designs don’t start from it. Your studio brand reaches a design only when someone on your team applies it by hand: when your studio has brand colours, the editor’s Apply brand list shows your team a Studio row too, for the rare listing design where your own colours and fonts fit better. It applies colours and fonts only, never your name or logo, and agents don’t get that option.

Who can edit brands

Company and client Brand tabs show for anyone on your team with Design marketing materials, which every role has by default. Changing a company’s logo also needs Edit clients, since the logo is part of the company record. The Marketing designs card in Settings is saved by members with Business settings — Owners and Admins by default. See roles and permissions.

Frequently asked questions

Can agents set their own brand colours?

Not from the client portal — there's no brand setting there. Your team sets an agent's colours on their client record's Brand tab. In the design editor the agent can still apply their client or company brand to a design, and recolour it by hand.

Does changing a company's brand update designs that were already made?

No. A brand is applied when a design is created, so the change reaches every new design for that company's orders. To update an existing design, open it and apply the brand again from the editor's Brand panel.

What brand does a design get if the agent isn't linked to a company?

Their own colours and fonts if you've customized their Brand tab, otherwise each template's own style. Linking them to a company gives them that company's brand from then on.

Will a hard-to-read colour stop a design from being exported?

No. The Brand tab warns you when a colour can't be read against another one, but it's only a warning — designs use the colours exactly as you chose them.
