How to Set Your Currency, Units, and Timezone
Set your Spatiko currency, property size unit (sq ft or m²), travel distance unit (miles or km), and business timezone — and what to check after a change.
Last updated
Four settings decide how Spatiko handles money, measurements, and time for your business: your timezone, your currency, the unit for property size, and the unit for travel distance. They’re set for you at signup from the country you picked and your device’s timezone, and they live together in Settings → General → Regional Settings — “Applies to booking forms, emails, and client-facing pages.”
The same card also holds Client languages and Default language — those are covered in offering your booking page in French.
Business timezone
Your business timezone is the clock your booking page runs on: the days and time slots clients choose from are shown in it, and it’s used for the dates on your invoices and emails. It starts as your device’s timezone when you sign up.
The picker groups zones by region — United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, then other regions — and orders each group west to east with its current UTC offset. Zones that don’t observe daylight saving time are marked (no DST), so you can tell Saskatchewan from Central time or Arizona from Mountain time. Pick the zone for where you actually shoot rather than one that happens to match today’s offset — the two drift apart when the clocks change.
Currency
Spatiko supports four currencies, one for each country it serves:
| Currency | Symbol in the Currency menu |
|---|---|
| US Dollar (USD) | $ |
| Canadian Dollar (CAD) | CA$ |
| Australian Dollar (AUD) | A$ |
| New Zealand Dollar (NZD) | NZ$ |
Your currency is used for every price on your booking form, orders, invoices, and emails. You run one currency for the whole business.
Changing the currency doesn’t convert anything — your prices keep their numbers and simply take the new currency. If you switch, go through your services and packages, travel fees, and promo codes and set the prices you actually want.
Property websites are the one place that follows the listing rather than your settings: a listing’s price and size are formatted for the country the property is in.
Property size and travel distance
Units are two separate settings, because plenty of markets mix them — Canadian listings are in square feet while road distances are in kilometres.
- Property size — Square feet (sq ft) or Square metres (m²). This is the unit clients enter the property size in on your booking form, and the unit behind every size-based price: the size bands on services priced by property size, the rate on per sq ft (or per m²) services, and size-priced packages.
- Travel distance — Miles (mi) or Kilometres (km). This is the unit for everything in each team member’s travel settings: included distance, maximum distance, remote threshold, per-distance rates, and the rates and free distances in custom travel zones. See travel time and fees.
Clients can’t choose a unit — the booking form always uses yours. If a client doesn’t know the exact size, an estimate in your unit is all the form asks for.
Changing a unit doesn’t convert your numbers
Switching a unit relabels the numbers you already have; it doesn’t convert them, and there’s no warning when you save. If you change Property size from sq ft to m², a size band that ended at 1,999 sq ft now ends at 1,999 m². If you change Travel distance from miles to kilometres, a 12-mile included distance becomes 12 km.
After changing either unit, re-check:
- size bands and per-unit rates on every size-priced service and package
- every team member’s travel settings and travel zones
- the size on any open orders and quote requests, which are read in the new unit
If you’re setting up for the first time, get the units right before you build your catalog and it’s never an issue.
Defaults from your country
When you pick a country — at signup, or in the Country field of the Business Address card — Spatiko fills in the currency and both units for you:
| Country | Currency | Property size | Travel distance |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | USD | sq ft | mi |
| Canada | CAD | sq ft | km |
| Australia | AUD | m² | km |
| New Zealand | NZD | m² | km |
You can change any of them afterwards. Choosing a business address in a different country through the address search switches the country too, which refills all three — check them before you save.
If your business was set up in a country Spatiko no longer serves, that country or currency shows as “no longer supported”. Your account keeps working; contact support before switching to one of the listed countries.

Frequently asked questions
Which currencies does Spatiko support?
US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Australian Dollar, and New Zealand Dollar — one for each country Spatiko serves. Your whole business runs in one currency, set in Settings → General → Regional Settings.
Can a client enter the property size in square metres if my business uses square feet?
No. The booking form always asks for the size in your business's Property size unit, and there's no unit switch on the client's side. Pick the unit your local listings use.
Why does a Canadian business default to square feet but kilometres?
Because that's how Canadian real estate works — listings quote floor area in square feet while road distances are in kilometres. Spatiko keeps Property size and Travel distance as two separate settings so each can match local practice, and you can change either one.
Will Spatiko convert my prices if I switch currency?
No. Changing the currency relabels your existing prices without converting them, so a service priced 180 stays 180, just in the new currency. The same goes for units — nothing is converted, so re-check your prices, size tiers, and travel settings after any change.
