AI Credits: What They Are and What Uses Them

Spatiko uses AI credits to pay for its built-in AI features — AI photo tagging and AI photo editing. Every business has a single credit wallet, and this page explains where those credits come from, what spends them, and how to top up.

How your balance is made up

Your total balance is the sum of three balances:

• Monthly allowance — included with some plans and reset each billing period. Not every plan carries one — Starter doesn’t, for example — so check pricing for what yours includes. Unused allowance does not carry over to the next month.
• Gifted credits — bonus credits the Spatiko team adds to your wallet, usually as a promotion or a goodwill gesture. They show on the Credits card as Granted credits and never expire, but they carry no cash value and aren’t refundable.
• Purchased credits — bought directly as a top-up. These never expire either, and they’re the only credits you’ve actually paid for.

When a credit-metered action runs, Spatiko draws from your monthly allowance first, then gifted credits, and purchased credits last. That order protects the credits you paid for: the ones that would otherwise reset at the end of the month go first, the ones that cost you nothing go next, and your paid balance stays intact longest.

Gifts and complimentary plans

When the Spatiko team gifts your business credits, the owner gets an email and every admin gets an in-app notification, so nobody has to spot the change in their balance on their own. Gifted credits behave like any other credits when you spend them — they just go before the ones you bought.

The team can also put a business on a complimentary plan: a paid plan, on us, with nothing to pay. Same announcement — email to the owner, in-app notification to admins — and a reminder before it ends. Complimentary access is temporary; when it lapses, your account returns to the plan you were already on. It doesn’t change your monthly credit allowance, which always follows your own plan.

What spends credits

Two features spend AI credits. Drafting translations with AI doesn’t use any.

AI photo tagging

When photos are uploaded or imported into an order, Spatiko can automatically analyze and tag each one by room type — Kitchen, Bedroom, Exterior Front, and so on — so you can group and reorder photos faster. You can always edit any tag by hand afterward.

Tagging costs 1 credit per photo, and photos that already have a tag are skipped and never charged. Before it runs, you see a live estimate — photo count times cost — alongside your balance after the run, plus a standing reminder that AI can make mistakes and results should be reviewed before you deliver to a client.

AI photo editing

AI Studio edits the photos on an order — virtual twilight, virtual staging, sky replacement, decluttering, and more. It’s priced per photo, per take:

The price is the same however many edits you stack in one pass and whichever engine you pick. Each extra variant is another take, charged again — three variants of one photo at 2K cost 75 credits. The studio shows the total and your balance after the run before you click Generate.

• Refunded automatically: renders that fail, renders stopped because they ran too long, and queued renders you stop before they start.
• Not refunded: a finished result you discard, and running the same edit again — that’s a new render, charged again.

When your balance runs low

Spatiko never lets your balance go negative.

• Tagging: if your balance can’t cover a tagging batch, the action is either blocked or falls back to uploading the photos without tagging them. If a batch partially fails partway through, the unused portion of that reservation is automatically refunded to your balance.
• AI editing: if the balance can’t cover a run, the studio’s Generate button becomes Buy credits. If credits run out partway through a big run, the photos that already started keep rendering and the rest don’t start — you’re charged only for what ran, so top up and run the remaining photos again.

Reviewing your credit history

The Credits card in Billing settings breaks down this month’s usage by feature — AI tagging and AI edit — and its History button opens every transaction: credits used, purchased, refunded, and granted. Each AI edit render appears as its own “AI edit: 1 photo” line, and credits returned for a failed render show as a Refund. Buying more credits

If you need more credits without changing your plan, you can buy a one-time top-up pack — Spatiko offers several fixed pack sizes. Purchased credits never expire and stack on top of your monthly allowance. Check current pack pricing and plan allowances on the pricing page.
